Ganga Adhikari
Ten years experience as secondary school teacher. Completed various leadership training programs and participated in 'Women's Empowerment Through Microfinance' training. Conducted research into women's education across 20 districts of Nepal. Is an Executive Committee member of Nepal Children's Association and is the treasurer of the 'Unemployed Educated Female' society.

Divya Laxmi Bajracharya
Master's Degree in Chemistry and Diploma in Soil Science (North Carolina State University). 25 yrs experience with HMG in soil chemistry. Established Agricultural Technology Centre (ATC) as a consultancy for sustainable agricultural management. Projects include; Biological Nitrogen Fixation, legume cultivation, improving compost and solid management and making soil testing and fertilizer recommendations.

Tara Bhandari
Master's Degree in Arts, focusing on Culture and Archaeology (Tribhuvan University). Current role (with twelve years experience) is as Lecturer, Culture Department, Kanya Campus, Kathmandu.

Geeta Kanel
Master's Degree in Sociology, Trichendra Campus (2yrs completed). Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Padma Kanya Campus. 14 years experience working for HMG as an office secretary in Petroleum Exploration Promotion Project (Department of Mines and Geology). Observation tour of Bangkok and Singapore (1984 and 1992). Recently accepted for Diploma of Community Based Development at Coady Instutite (Canada). Current secretary of BPW Kathmandu.

Mangala Karanjit
Master's Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences (Tribuvan University). Certificate courses from Haifa University (Israel) and University of Life (Manila). Presently working in Water supply and Sanitation sector, specialising in Consumer Education and Community Participation. Current role is as the Senior Sociologist and Chief of Information/PR at the Melamchi Water Supply Development Board. Member of Nepal Bhasa Misa Khala (National Association of Newar Women), Newa Dey Dabu (National Forum of Newars), Nepal Council of World Affairs, Nepalbhasa Parisad (Council of Newar language and literature), SA Women and Water network and Beyond Beijing Committee.

Laxmi Keshari Manandhar
M.Sc Botany (India), P.G. Diploma in Women and Agriculure (The Netherlands). Participated in six weeks Marketing Management training (USA), TOT in Gender Issues in Home Science Curriculum (Nepal), training for University teachers in Gender and Development Diploma (Nepal), "Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development" training (Philippines), training on Gender and Development (Nepal), "Small Scale Enterprise in Rural Development" training (Sri Lanka) and two weeks training on Gender and Reproductive Health (Australia). Published works include "Human Physiology and Microbiology (Nepal, 1995)", "Participation of Farm Women in Vegetable Production and Marketing" (Netherlands, 1990), Women and Development research survey in Badikhel (Nepal ,1997), "Buffalo raising and Beekeeping... in Jharuwarasi village" (Nepal, 1998), "Gender and Democracy in Nepal", ed (Nepal, 2001). Current role is as Associate Professor, Tribhuvan University. Minerva Manandhar

Sita Manandhar

Participated in Meeting of South Asian Association of Women Entrepreneurs (BPW Nepal), Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs (WEDC), Entrepreneurship Development (Philippines and Nepal), TOT training in "Promotion of Entrepreneurship" (Thailand). Managing Director of Sita's Craft. Manufacturer, designer, exporter and wholesaler of Nepalese handicrafts and textiles. Member of Handicraft Association of Nepal. Trainer in Entrepreneurship Development. President of Women's Association of Training and Service (WATS).

Mrs Kamlesh Lata Rajbhandari
Master's Degree (Science) in Botany, Post Graduate Degree in Seed Technology. 30 years experience working for HMG as Seed Specialist. 3 years Executive Member of International Seed Testing Association (ISTA). Member Secretary of the National Seed Board. Currently working as Freelance Consultant- Seed Specialist.

Roshana Shakya
Master's Degree in Science (Organic chemistry). Post Graduate Degree in 'Water Quality Management' (International Institute for Hydraulic and Environment, The Netherlands). Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering (Ho Hai University, China). Participated in various international conferences and worked as a coordinator in various international and national conferences. Research includes 'Environment Impact Assessment' (New Delhi INDIA) and 'Country Paper' publications for International Agencies. Experience includes teaching at the Institute of Medicine and working as a Chemist (Graduated III class) in the Department of Drug Administration. Current role is as the Chief of Labratory in N.W.S.C.

Shanta Sharma

Head of the Department of Home Science and Coordinator of the Women's Studies Programme. Currently acting as Joint Secretary of BPW Kathmandu.

Anjula Rajbhandary Shrestha
Bachelor's Degree in Science- Food Technology (University of the Philippines, 1994). Previous experience includes Food Research Officer for the Public Health Department (Kathmandu Municipality) and Quality Assurance Specialist for Nepal Dairy. International research includes Training Course on Production Management Information Systems at the Asian Productivity Organization (Japan, 1997) and Training on Chemical and Microbiological Anaylsis (Japan, 1997). International Course on Food Processing at the International Agriculture Centre (Netherlands, 1999), Dairy Technology and Quality Control (Denmark, 2001) and Feasibility Study conducted for Plateua- Yak Co (Lhasa, Tibet, 2003). Current role is as Product Development Specialist for Nd's Ice Cream, Nepal.

Ratna Laxmi Shrestha

Conducted gender training for women across 75 districts as part of the Social Mobilisation Program on behalf of the Women's Ministry. Current role is as Officer, Customer Service Department, Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC).

Dr Harinder Thapliya
Bachelor's Degree in Home Science (India, 1965), Master's Degree in Home Science (India, 1977). PhD, Child Development and Gender Socialization (Delhi University, 1990). Post Graduate Diploma, Early Childhood Development (M.S. University, India, 1989). Previous experience includes conducting field level research in many districts in the area of Gender and Development-health, nutrition and social-aspects affecting women's lives, providing lectures to international volunteers about the culture of Nepal and as Head of the Home Science and Women Studies Department (1992-1995). Participated in "Leadership Training for Executives" organized by USAID, The National Conference on "Women Rights are Human Rights" in Benaras Hindu University(1998). Coordinated a "Problems Associated with Child Workers in Kathmandu Valley in 1992" pilot study for the Central Dept of Home Science sponsored by USAID. Memberships include, Human Resource development team in UNICEF (Nepal), Central Child Welfare Committee under Women and Social Welfare Ministry, Kathmandu. Life member of BPW Kathmandu. Executive member of Home Science Association Nepal. Current role is as Professor in Home Science and Women's Development, Tribhuvan University, Padma Kanya campus.

Renuka Upadhyay
Master's Degree in Home Economics and Master's Degree in Education. Participated in "Food and Nutrition for Community Health and Development" (The Netherlands 1992) and "Food Science & Nutrition Course" (Kyoto 1998) . Core team member in the "Study of Women's Participation in Forest Management" (1994) and Field Supervisor in "Political Opinion Polls Survey" in Dang District. Book publication: "Home Management, Clothing and Textiles" (1998). Currently working as a Lecturer in Home Science Department, Padma Kanya Campus. Previous experience as Health Education Lecturer at Sano Thimi Campus and Mahendra Ratna Campus.
